Voice 1 is italic
Voice 2 is Bold
Both voices is Underlined

My mom didn't give me my $25 per week allowance
It's hard to live with the fridge empty for another week
ITS TOUGH

I have two parties to go to, and my mom is making me take a taxi
I have to try and sneak onto a bus, dad didn't give me enough for a bus fair
ITS TOUGH

My studio beats broke, and so did my ipad, so mom said to use my beat earphone and my iphone
People are making fun of me because my pre-paid Metro PCS phone ran out of minutes
ITS TOUGH

Mom won't buy me a Lamborghini Geraldo
Mom said we are behind on rent, and that we will always be.

ITS TOUGH

So Yohance and I were in a group, and we had to write a poem with the topic of Poverty. I found this a hard topic, because I mean, I am not in poverty, and neither was Yohance. So we used our knowledge of Poverty, and people who are struggling with it, and wrote this two-voice poem.
Yohance wrote as Voice 1, and I wrote as Voice 2. I was a poor kid, who's parents were unemployed, and Yohance wrote as a super duper rich snobby kid, that doesn't really value anything in his life. I had to be a little sad and depressing while reading this, because really, I had to think about the little things that I take for granted, and make them a big deal in the poem.
I feel like this really opened up my feelings with the social issue of Poverty.

  1. Very nice job. I like the obvious difference between the two voices; very empathetic.
